The flight experience is among the most thrilling aspects of travel. It’s an experience in itself to put your bags, get on the plane, and see the world go by as you fly up to the skies. But it can be expensive since paying for international flight tickets is typically one of the costliest aspects of the journey. If the cost of the flight is prohibitive, it could seriously impede or ultimately end the travel plan.
I’m not a master deal or flight hacker; however, I am dependent on finding flights at a low cost to help me save money for other expenses. I’ll usually find a flight anywhere from 3 to 10 times before taking my credit card out.
It’s a fact that the cost of international flight tickets fluctuates constantly. Moreover, it’s the most unpleasant feeling in the world to spend more money than you have to for the trip. But, it’s tempting to spend hours finding the most cost-effective option and stress about price fluctuations that aren’t too significant.
However, after numerous journeys spent stressing out about flights without reason, I’ve realized that the best option is to make your booking earlier than later, as waiting around doesn’t usually result in much, if any, savings. It’s still essential to ensure that you’re equipped with the appropriate tools to look for flights and make quick decisions!
Below, I’ve put together a list of sites I use to evaluate discounts on international airline tickets.
-
Skyscanner
Best for: When You Know Where You’re Going, or if you’re flying internationally. Skyscanner has been my primary tool for researching discounted international airline tickets since I started traveling in my college days. It’s simple to comprehend due to its clean and simple interface. In addition, it offers the entire spectrum of flights available, from international and domestic airlines to regional and budget airlines, which other search engines tend to don’t leave out.
If you’re planning to travel abroad, you should consider Skyscanner while doing your research. For example, with Skyscanner, I just booked a flight a couple of weeks ago to take a flight between Bali and Singapore at $59 direct (no stopping) via Jetstar Asia.
When I checked other websites that didn’t have discounts on international airline tickets, such as Jetstar, I looked at flights of $250 or more, but none were direct! So I was amazed that a simple search helped me save 200 dollars and more than 6 hours.

Femon Travel
Best for: When You Are Looking for Tour packages with discounts on International Airline TicketsI know that people are expected to travel this summer in large numbers. Also, I know travel expenses will be high. As a result, hotel, flights, and car rental expenses are rising this year. There are many reasons for this, not least of all, the unprecedented volatility of the airfare landscape.
Take your bags out since it’s time for an unforgettable getaway! With the help of Femon, you can locate discounts on international airline tickets and hotel packages that are affordable for everyone and leave you spending less money to enjoy your vacation.
-
Momondo
Best for: When You’re Not Sure of Your Destination or when you’re on the budgetMomondo is also my favorite website to explore when I’m unsure which direction I want to go other than ‘away’. Momondo scours tons of airlines worldwide (including low-cost carriers) to provide you with discounts on international airline tickets.
I really like Momondo because it allows you to look up destinations around the globe that you could fly to. When you click ‘Anywhere – to see what you can do within your budget, you’ll find discounts on international airline tickets worldwide and explore their map interactively to discover. You can further limit your search based on the things you’d like to participate in, such as golfing or visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
-
Google Flights
Best for: When You’re Not Sure of Your Destination, When You’re on a budget, or when you have Flexible Dates.
Google Flights also offers the same feature, where you can choose “More Destinations’ from the search engine’s ‘Where to?’ section. You can also view an interactive map that lays out every place you could fly to along with its cost.
My favorite feature of Google Flights is that it clearly shows how the price fluctuates based on your travel dates without needing to conduct any additional searching. When you click on the dates of your trip in your search, you’ll see an interactive calendar that shows discounts on international airline tickets for the entire month, sorted by day.
This can be extremely useful when you’ve got your destination in mind but are trying to figure out the best time to fly. There have been times when flights can vary between $5 and $150 from one day to another because of how the price algorithms of these airlines operate. It is possible to get amazing discounts on international airline tickets by choosing flexible dates!
-
Airfare Watchdog:
Best for: When You’re Not Sure of Your Destination, Have Flexible Dates, or when you’re flying within the USA.
If you leave your destination unspecified during your searches, Airfare Watchdog will compile the most affordable destinations that you can fly to and the most cost-effective months to fly.
I love this website to compare prices because it has a wide range of regional and budget carriers and a clean tool for searching for discounts on international airline tickets.
