I really enjoy getting out onto the open moor. I love the areas around the Walkham Valley, particularly Great Staple Tor, and going out to Fur Tor at the very heart of the north moor.
Scorhill Down is one place I return to a lot, with the impressive Scorhill stone circle, the clapper bridges made from large slabs of granite over the Walla Brook and the North Teign River, and the views across to Watern Tor and Wild Tor. Nearby is the Tolmen Stone on the banks of the North Teign, which has a hole large enough for an adult to pass through and is said to have powers to cure rheumatism.
